Although the patterning is the same, the atmosphere is filled with weight, perhaps alluding to the death or end of a moment.

Abstract / Description
-
Herb Jackson’s work has focused on processes that reveal multilayered textures, marks, and intense colors. In this piece, Jackson creates an abstracted form and reduces the imagery down to primary colors. The relationship between the warm and cool colors creates an intense implication of heat against a cool form.

Abstract / Description
-
Andrew Owen is an educator and master printmaker, currently teaching at Florida Gulf Coast University. In this print, Owen uses a cool color palette, inspired by the Gulfstream waters of the Florida Keys. The visual interpretation of the moment is further emphasized through his usage of broken striations from one color to the next, echoing to the movements seen within waterways. This print is flowing with push-pull qualities attained through a combination of intaglio and relief techniques.
