The old post office run by the Reed family on their homestead on San Carlos Bay on Sanibel, shortly before it was moved and restored by the Sanibel Historical Village and Museum. William S. Reed was postmaster for forty-four years, and the little building was built from salvaged lumber after the 1926 hurricane destroyed their home, which had housed the facility previous to the storm.
